Roland Fischenich to overlook retail expansion at Olymp

Growth and the demand for shirts, polos, ties and knitted goods of the OLYMP brand continue unabated. The company is growing both nationally and internationally to a gratifying extent. Sales have more than trebled within only ten years to just short of 187 million euros in 2012.

Likewise, OLYMP has been able for the first time to post record sales of nearly 100 million euros as half-year turnover for 2013. To carry this expansive trend forward in a structured and continuous way on the retail side too, the expert for real estate and building management Roland Fischenich has now been appointed, with his date for joining the company scheduled for 1 September 2013.

At the start of his varied professional career, graduate industrial engineer Roland Fischenich, born on 22 February 1978 in Manassas, Virginia (USA), initially completed a full technical apprenticeship. This was followed by study at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts at Holzminden (HAWK) in Lower Saxony, from which he successfully graduated with his dissertation (written in German) on “Site factors for Project Development in the Retail Trade” in 2004.

From 2005 to 2008, he was employed as leasing manager at Kemper’s Düsseldorf GmbH in the areas of retail letting, business location definition, retail location analysis and target acquisition. This was followed by an exhibition at Multi Development Germany GmbH in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, where he was concerned with the leasing and design of inner-city shopping centres from 2008 to 2009.

From October 2009 until the present, Roland Fischenich was employed as an expansion manager at Gries Deco Company GmbH in Niedernberg, Hesse, where he dealt with the definition of DEPOT-branch locations, site auditing, efficiency analyses, contract formation, and the renting of store properties.

At OLYMP Bezner GmbH & Co. KG in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Baden-Württemberg, Roland Fischenich will be devoting his attention to the concentrated expansion of further OLYMP stores within the Federal Republic of Germany and neighbouring European countries from 1 September 2013. He will report in future to the Head of Retail, Burkhard Wolters.
