Golf Galaxy introduces Maltby Putter Fitting System

Golf Galaxy Inc, the interactive golf superstore offering Everything for the Game, announced the launch of the Maltby Putter Fitting System in each of its 56 stores.

The Maltby Putter Fitting System is designed to properly fit and adjust each golfer's putter to his or her individual specifications to help lower his or her score.

Ralph Maltby, Chief Technology Officer with Golf Galaxy and the creator of the Matlby Putter Fitting System, said, "Putting represents more than 40 percent of a golfer's strokes during any given round, so it's an incredibly important stroke to improve either through equipment changes, technique changes or both."

"In putting, you want to remove every variable that can unduly influence the distance the ball travels and the directional control of the putter. The Maltby Putter Fitting System helps do just that," Maltby added.

There are five fitting variables that can dramatically improve a golfer's putting, including length, lie, loft, swing weight, and putter head design. With the Maltby Putter Fitting System, a certified Golf Galaxy Putter Fitting Expert will now measure the specifications of each of those variables for a golfer and will then customize the putter based on those specifications.

"Having a properly fit putter is the best possible change a golfer can make to their equipment to lower their golf scores," said Maltby.

The Maltby Putter Fitting System compliments Golf Galaxy's other game-improving features and services, including its on-site PGA lessons, GETfit Ball Launch Monitor fittings, and GETfit iron fittings.
