On Friday, 29 November 2013 at 10.00 am, OLYMP Bezner GmbH & Co. KG based in Bi-etigheim-Bissingen (district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) will be opening in Heidelberg the first free-standing OLYMP store ever located in a pedestrian zone.

Thus, the extended OLYMP store concept will be making its debut in Heidelberg’s popular shop-ping street. The manufacturer of high-quality shirts, polo shirts, T-shirts, ties and knitted goods wants to transfer this sales concept in future to other sites in Germany.

Mark Bezner, Owner and CEO of OLYMP Bezner GmbH & Co. KG, is looking forward to the new OLYMP store in the Electoral Palatinate: “With this free-standing store in the old and traditional university town of Heidelberg, we are breaking new ground in terms of our trading strategy.

It is the first branch to be opened in a highly frequented pedestrian zone. Moreover it is our 50th OLYMP store in all.” As of November 2013, 47 stores are sited in the Federal Republic of Germany and three other stores in Austria.

The new OLYMP store at Hauptstraße 90 is situated in a prime location and has a sales area of 80 square metres plus a storage area of 50 square metres. In future, the entire OLYMP shirt range will be presented here in a variety of cuts, sleeve lengths and up to 17 sizes, along with stylishly coordinated ties, polo shirts and knitted goods.

The contemporary and customer-friendly store facility was conceived by the famous Stuttgart store design agency Blocher Blocher Partners and realized by Schlegel Ladenbau GmbH in Bietigheim-Bissingen. On the attractive sales floor in Heidelberg, four annual fashion collections and all the garments of the standard product line will be presented.

“Due to the high footfall from passers-by, students, customers and tourists, the Hauptstraße in Heidelberg, located between the traffic hub of Bismarck-Platz and the historical town hall market square, is one of the busiest shopping zones in Germany. It is therefore an opportunity for us to use this excellent inner-city location in a very popular shopping street for a promising and expandable sales concept,” Mark Bezner says.

OLYMP Bezner GmbH & Co. KG is today’s recognized market leader for men’s shirts in Germany. The medium-sized clothing specialist from Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart is also continuing on its international growth course. OLYMP currently employs around 600 staff with a previous annual turnover of approx. 187 million euros (2012).

The company sells several million items each year and only recently, in mid-October 2013, brought the largest and globally unique automatic shirt warehouse combining shuttle and overhead conveyor technology on stream with the new and innovative OLYMP Logistics Centre (OLZ).
