New Iceberg line follows Japanese genre of manga comics

Women’s SS 2014 collection by Iceberg follows the Japanese genre of manga comics. That is how the designers imagine a character of this fantasy: a lot of white, short skirts, cherry blossoms, hieroglyphs, views of Fuji Mount and of course iceberg prints.

The collection features futuristic cuts, almost «haute couture» tops and skirts with several layers of frills, tops with rainbow ribbons, jackets and sweatshirts of bizarre shapes of actual materials, tight leather and neoprene side by side with transparent muslin and ultrafine nylon jersey covering dresses with prints or embroideries resembling an iridescent jellyfish.

Spirit of the future is highlighted with accessories, such as ankle boots and sandals with open toe on a soft rubber sole, cufflinks made of plexiglass, collars with lacquered metal inserts and so forth.

Contrary to the women’s collection full of white color and in compliance with the philosophical yin and yang concept, men’s collection is all about dark hues. Black and khaki prevail, white and beige add some contrast, and orange or rich blue bring some freshness.

Stripes and contrasts add something offbeat to the collection. Black stripe goes along the zipper of an orange jacket, orange stripe outlines the right pocket of black shorts, white stripe surrounds cuffs of black parkas, and black collar of a beige jacket has orange lining.

Urban safari rhymes perfectly with casual style where usual division on daytime/evening, home/outdoor, warm/cold weather is newly interpreted to find a universal solution. We mean upright shorts, hooded or not windbreakers, t-shirts and sweatshirts, parkas and upright leather jackets like for motorcycling. These sporty items can be changed into luxurious casual ones due to smart details, such as mesh lining, double openwork leather, intarsia pattern, ergonomic cut and waistband lining inserts.
