Delta Galil invests in education to support fashion future

Delta Galil Industries, Ltd, the global manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label apparel products for men, women and children, announced that it is investing in the future generation of designers and textiles development in Israel through a significant collaboration with Israel’s renowned fashion and design school, Shenkar College.
 
Beginning with a $300,000 (one million Shekels) donation made in honor of Delta founder, Dov Lautman, the Company will support the College’s Department of Textile Design, which will be renamed “the Department of Textile Design named after Delta Galil - Dov Lautman.” Delta will initially focus on the renewal and renovation of the department, while it will ultimately award scholarships to students from the departments of textile and fashion design, as well as arrange activities and events to present and preserve the study of textile ingenuity.
 
The collaboration will be launched at a ceremony on May 28th, held at the newly renovated Department of Textile Design. Speakers at the event will include: CEO of Delta Galil Industries Mr. Isaac Dabah; Chairman of the Lautman Foundation Mr. Noam Lautman; and President of the Shenkar College Prof. Yuli Tamir.
 
Isaac Dabah, CEO of Delta Galil, said, “Dov Lautman was a man of vision who believed in the human factor, ingenuity and innovation. Delta, as the leading company in the  textile industry in Israel and one of the leading textile companies in the world, sees a natural connection with Shenkar, as the main creator of the next generation of the industry’s leaders.
 
"Even today, as Delta operates in dozens of countries worldwide, the “brain” and “spine” of the company are here in Israel, and Israel is where the most important and most innovative developments stem from. The collaboration with Shenkar will help us continue to lead the field of innovation in textile design, and will open a door to a variety of job opportunities for the students”.
 
Noam Lautman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delta Galil and Dov Lautman’s son, said, “As a person who dedicated his life to developing the textile industry as well as promoting education in Israel, there’s no doubt that Shenkar is a most fitting place to commemorate my father’s name. I’m happy we will be able to give new opportunities to hundreds of students as they develop themselves personally and professionally. I would like to thank Delta and the Dabah family for making this commemoration possible.”
