Lord & Taylor to receive Planalytics Executive WeatherBrief

Planalytics Inc announced that Lord & Taylor, America's oldest department store, has licensed its Business Weather Intelligence Platform. Lord & Taylor will use Planalytics to optimize decisions for its weather sensitive merchandise.
“With its apparel emphasis, Lord & Taylor really stands to benefit from applying the weather perspective to its business decisions,” commented Scott Bernhardt, Chief Operating Officer for Planalytics. “Weather strongly impacts the demand for seasonal softlines like sweaters, coats and shorts.
Planalytics can help Lord & Taylor identify opportunities to capitalize on periods of increased demand and to make other choices, both pre-season and in-season, that bolster business performance.”
Through the Business Weather Intelligence Platform, Lord & Taylor will receive Planalytics' weekly Executive WeatherBrief, a report highlighting the effects of weather during the previous week and coming two week period, and have access to Planalytics Planner and Planalytics Allocation, which enable the retailer to integrate weather intelligence into forecasting and distribution decisions for specific weather impacted product categories.
Lord & Taylor will also receive Planalytics Severe Weather Alerts ahead of storms, unseasonable temperatures and other weather developments that have a significant impact on store traffic or the types of merchandise customers will be looking for when they shop.
