Monte Carlo gears up to seize Intl markets

Oswal Woollen Mills Ltd (OWM) with its popular brand Monte Carlo has plans to tap the overseas market after meeting with a huge success in domestic gounds.

This subsidiary of Nahar group, is contriving a strategy to export its fashion wear range to European market by 2009 and it has already launched its exclusive outlet in Kathmandu, Nepal in October last year.

Official sources from Oswal confirmed Fibre2fashion about this plan and stated that the brand's total turnover amounted to Rs1250 millions last year.

Oswal already has 75 exclusive showroom displaying a complete range of Monte Carlo garments and aims to add an additional 45 to the present figures by spending some Rs2,000 per square feet. Apart from the summer collection and exclusive range of women apparel being exhibited at its stores, the brand will add fashion wear for kids in a short period of time.

Oswal Woollen Mills on the whole recorded an annual turn over of Rs4000 million in 2007 manufacturing some 10 million t-shirts per annum for such esteemed brands like GAP, Reebok, Arrow, IZOD, Chaps and Phillips-Van Heusen.

As of now, Monte Carlo and Canterbury account for two of the best knitwear brands of Oswal that includes a wide range of woollen, acrylic and synthetic blended yarns, Lambs wool yarn, woolen, viscose and acrylic tops.
