JA Apparel Corp., the maker of fine men's clothing and an array of other products under the Joseph Abboud brand name, announced it has reached an agreement with the National Football League to be the official clothier of the NFL “Coaches Club” for the next three years.

During this period, Joseph Abboud will provide fine tailored clothing, dress shirts and ties and dress sportswear to all Coaches Club members for wear off the field. The Coaches Club includes 31 of the 32 NFL coaches. In select markets, the Company will also work with individual coaches to support charities of their choice.

“We at Joseph Abboud are delighted to be extending our partnership with the NFL,” said Marty Staff, the President and Chief Executive Officer of JA Apparel Corp.

“We love to see the league's great coaches wearing our great clothes. We have been dressing athletes and coaches for many years and I think it's a terrific way to demonstrate the outstanding fit of an American-made Joseph Abboud suit. Few things are more American than NFL football and we are the pre-eminent American menswear designer. It's a perfect match.”

“Nobody works harder than an NFL coach to ensure his team's success,” said Dennis Kayser, the NFL's senior director of on-field operations, uniform development and the Coaches Club. “Thanks to Joseph Abboud, our fine coaches will travel in style off the field and continue to represent their organization and the league in a first-class manner.”

These clothes will be worn by coaches for their off-the-field activities and Joseph Abboud will not be furnishing casual sportswear to the coaches. The clothing will not be worn on the sidelines on game day.

One NFL coach, Mike Nolan of the San Francisco 49ers, currently wears Joseph Abboud suits on the sidelines during games. Mr. Nolan won permission last year to wear the suit to honor his father, Dick Nolan, who wore a suit when he coached the 49ers and New Orleans Saints in the 1960s and 1970s.

The coaches were measured at the NFL League meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, during the last weekend of April. The coaches selected from hundreds of fabric swatches. Once they selected a fabric, it was set aside exclusively for that coach.

All of the suits were then made at our factory in New Bedford, Mass., which is the exclusive producer of Joseph Abboud suits, sportcoats, and dress trousers for the U.S. market. The Company recently announced plans to export its fine American-made suits to China, where Joseph Abboud stores will be opening this fall.

After the coaches were fitted, the Company was invited to visit the training facilities of the Chicago Bears, the New York Giants and the 49ers and dress members of their coaching staff, as well as players.

“Clearly, the NFL is well on its way to becoming the best-dressed league in all of sports,” Mr. Staff said.
