Timon Jacket keeps Race Officials warm & dry

Safety Direct and MASCOT sponsored the official rally clothing at the recent 2008 Safety Direct Galway International Rally which took place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of February.
Rally Officials, Marshalls and Service Personnel were kept safe and warm as Galway experienced some of the worst weather the area had seen in years.
MASCOT's customer Safety Direct was the main sponsor of the event. Safety Direct has a keen interest in the sport and as well as having their own Safety Direct rally car driven by Alan Fair, they sponsor local rally driver Neil Pierce.
The MASCOT Timon Pilot Jacket kept Service Personnel and Marshalls warm and safe throughout the rally. The two-tone high-visibility jacket has both horizontal and vertical reflective strips ensuring the safety of the wearer. The jacket is certified to EN 471.
The MASCOT Wolfurt Outer Trousers kept the race staff dry during the 3 day event. Certified to EN343 and made from MASCOTEX wind and waterproof fabric, the Wolfurt trouser proved perfect for the “Danish Like “ weather.
In conjunction with MASCOT, Safety Direct provided all the garments for the 3 day event through their Safety Direct Embroidery Division.
The Safety Direct Galway International Rally started early on Saturday 2nd February around the East of the county, with snow and ice making driving conditions even more difficult for the accomplished drivers, resulting in some stages being cancelled.
However, despite early morning setbacks, the rally got well underway in the afternoon, with many crews vying for positions. Thankfully, Sunday morning's weather was not as bad as Saturday and all crews got off to a good start.
First to cross the Finish Ramp on Sunday evening was Mark Higgins and Rory Kennedy who took the title of champions, with Tim McNulty and Eugene O'Donnell finishing in close second.
Safety Direct were extremely happy with the finishing position of both of their sponsored rally cars, with Neil Pierce finishing an impressive third in his class.
In the upcoming months, both Safety Direct rally cars will be competing in a number of rallies all over Ireland:
- Circuit of Munster Stages Rally, June 1st 2008
- Galway Summer Stages Rally, August 31st 2008
- Clare Stages Rally, September 14th 2008
- Kerry Mini Stages Rally, November 9th 2008
