Kidswear business,a huge challenge - Lilliput

Kidswear sector has emerged as one of the biggest industries in the world. Experts have pointed out that children are becoming leading consumers of garments, footwear and other related products.
However, no matter how lucrative, it is not a child's play to manage kidswear business.
Mr Kamal Gupta, Vice President (Retail), Lilliput Kidswear Ltd, told Fibre2fashion, “Challenges in kidswear are mainly about managing pricing and inventory. These are the two factors powerful enough to turnaround the buying behavior of customers who are accustomed to buying from unorganized sector, and graduate them to branded kidswear.”
He said the situation in India is tough right now. “Within India, managing a profitable kidswear business with skyrocketing rentals is quite a daunting task.”
Mr Gupta explained that most hurdles can be overcome by concentrating on the quality of the product. This also helps a Company build brands.
“We have stores in China, Egypt, Kingdom of Bahrain and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and we also happen to be the first Indian kidswear brand to have crossed shores. Considering, we are not already a brand there, we heavily rely on our product's quality and strategic pricing to sail us through. A superior, value for money product is a sell-out, nationally or internationally,” he said.
Thus, quality of a product plays key role in the success of any brand and allows the company to spread its wings and reach new levels.
