From 2009 until 2011 TenCate Advanced Armour will deliver a total of approximately 22,500 systems that each consists of several ballistic inserts designed to protect against specific customised threats.

The order from Sagem (Safran Group) emphasizes the position of TenCate Advanced Armour as a leading supplier of customised lightweight protection solutions for service men and women and their equipment.

New generation of ballistic inserts: TenCate Multi-light TenCate Multi-light is a collection of durable ballistic inserts that can be tailored to fit users' particular requirements regarding maximum protection, shape, weight, colour and costs. TenCate Multi-light features a full range of inserts designed in accordance with international standards as well as customer requirements. The key focus of TenCate Multi-light is to provide the service men and woman with maximum protection and comfort at the same time.

TenCate Multi-light inserts are light in weight and designed to provide a degree of flexibility that matches the particular level of threat as well as focusing on user comfort. The inserts are available in a wide range of shapes including complex ergonomic designs.

TenCate Multi-light is made with the latest state-of-the-art materials in different combined technologies, including high performance polyethylene, aramids and ceramics, as well as combination of these.

Family of inserts: TenCate Multi-light
TenCate Multi-light is available in three distinct types to meet specific needs:
• TenCate Multi-light are high-performance inserts made with the highest-performance materials such as boron carbide;
• TenCate Multi-light CS is the cost effective range that combines 100% ballistic protection with a special focus on costs;
• TenCate Multi-light PF is made with high performance polyethylene UD material or hybrids of different fibre materials.

French Army FELIN program
The French Army FELIN program is a new platform concept to enhance the infantryman combat skills in the areas of mobility, fighting, communications, survivability, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), and logistic support.

The French DGA has awarded the French company Sagem with the contract to provide 22,500 FELIN systems. Ballistic protection is a vital part of this new concept. The concepts will be fielded and operational in 2010.
