Protective uniform maker Lion Apparel announced the introduction of the new protective Multi-Threat Garment, which will provide a new level of protection for bio-terrorism, natural disaster first responders, and Drug Enforcement Agents.
Tactix MT94, a multi-wear ensemble designed to provide protection against a variety of threats including chemical/biological terrorism agents, is now available from Lion Apparel Inc.
"The launch of this product comes after a challenging two-year development process requiring outstanding teamwork from many people in the organization. Lion Apparel fire service customers asked for a product like this one, and they have delivered it to them," said Steve Schwartz, President and COO of Lion. "For the first time, they can extend their protection know-how to serve the needs of the law enforcement community."
The MT94 was principally designed to offer a high level of vapor protection, which is required to protect against selected chemical/biological terrorism agents. However, the MT94 has a wide range of uses, including technical rescue, HAZ-MAT, confined space rescue, decon, high-risk entries such as narcotics labs, and bomb secondary threat protection.
In addition to guarding against challenges identified in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1994 and 1992 standards, the MT94 also offers protection against flame and "weaponized" chemical and biological agents.
"What separates the MT94 from all other chemically-protective ensembles is its combination of durability, mobility, safety, and comfort," said Tom Martin of Lion Apparel.
