Koutons to expand its presence by FY11

Koutons Retail India has targeted to increase the number of its retail stores in fiscal 2011, by opening 200 more stores, informed Mr. Akash Deep Sandhu, General Manager of Sales and Marketing during the Asia Retail Congress Summit.
Currently, Koutons has 1,400 stores across India. Out of the new 200 stores, 50 percent will be family stores which would also include women and kids' wear. The company is undergoing diversification from men's concept model to the family concept model, he added.
In next fiscal, the firm will also think over setting up stores in Middle East and South East Asia, informed Mr. Sandhu. The banks are still not lending money to the retail sectors, he grieved.
