Max, a division of the US $3.8 billion, Middle East based Landmark group, is on the verge of multiplying its operations in India. South India is its area of focus for expansion as it accounts for maximum revenue.
The company anticipates high revenue through its operations in India and hopes that they will be able to generate a business of more than Rs four billion by March 2011. Max currently generates a turnover of Rs 1.88 billion.
The retail chain has recently launched its 27th store in Mylapore, Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu on franchisee model. As of date, the retail chain is spread across an area of 280,000 sq. ft. in India. Now, the brand intends to increase this space two-fold by setting up more stores, this year, stated Mr. Vasanth Kumar, ED, Max.
The retail chain aims to raise the count of its stores to 53 by March 2011, currently, has 16 outlets in the metros and few in tier-II cities, and has around 120 vendors across the country.
