Haggar buys assets of Neema Clothing

Haggar Clothing Co, maker of Haggar branded casual and dress apparel for men, announces the acquisition of certain assets of Neema Clothing Ltd. The acquisition extends the company's strong position in the men's dress and tailored category.
Paul Buxbaum, Haggar's CEO, said, "We purchased the men's private label dress and clothing business Neema has developed with several department store retailers in the country." Buxbaum added, "This purchase enables Haggar to leverage its experience as a leading developer and supplier of men's dress clothing."
In addition, as part of the transaction, Haggar entered into a license agreement with Global Licensing Company, LLC, for the Bert Pulitzer trademark to manufacture, market and sell men's suits, sport coats, blazers, topcoats, tuxedos, vests and tailored slacks bearing the Bert Pulitzer mark.
"The Haggar brand is a staple in the men's dress and tailored category with long standing consumer preference and awareness," said Jon Ragsdale, SVP of Marketing & Merchandising for Haggar. "The addition of Neema's private label business, including the Bert Pulitzer brand, will enhance the remarkable growth Haggar Clothing Co. has experienced in recent years."
Since its beginnings in Dallas, Texas, in 1926, Haggar Clothing Co. has grown from a manufacturer of men's fine apparel into one of the most recognized brands in the market, with Haggar casual pants, dress pants and suit separates and an extensive licensing program offering head-to-toe clothing options for style-conscious men of all ages and professions.
