KCCI and Turkey join hands for handicraft trade prospects

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) and the Turkish-Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry have entered into an agreement to promote handicraft business in Kashmir. The meeting was organized by World Trade Centre (WTC), Noida, which has formulated a roadmap to promote Kashmiri brand globally.

During the meeting, both KCCI and the Turkish delegation agreed to work for mutual trade agreements and help in economic growth of all the sectors. The Turkish delegates, who showed special interest in the handicraft sector including silk carpet, pashmina, and other handicrafts, will visit Srinagar from the November 3-11, 2014, and meet local businessmen to work for boosting bilateral trade.

The Turkish delegation showed keen interest in organizing business promotion events/road shows for KCCI in Turkey to showcase Kashmir’s handicraft products. The Turkish delegates assured the KCCI delegation that they can help promote Kashmir Handicraft business online.

WTC will support Kashmiri businessmen in marketing their products in the right way in the international market. With this venture, KCCI will also get an opportunity to create direct business opportunities and promote Kashmiri products in Turkey. In order to support the economic sector of Kashmir, KCCI will be creating a proper plan to display the various avenues available for Turkish businessmen to invest in Kashmir.

The KCCI is hopeful of positive outcomes from such trade ties as there are many similarities between Kashmir and Turkey business sectors.
