Apartment9 to launch Andrew Martin home décor in India

In a strategic collaboration, India’s leading premium interior décor brand apartment9, will be showcasing the Andrew Martin collection pan-India using its retail outlets. Present in over 55 countries, the label Andrew Martin has been created by celebrity designer Martin Waller who counts among many others, Madonna, and the Beckhams in his clientele.

Comprising of furniture, fabrics, wallpapers, lighting products and accessories, the collection will be housed in a special floor at apartment9’s flagship showroom in N Block, GK1 market.

Speaking on the collaboration, Anuja Gupta, Co-Founder and Design Creative Director, apartment9 stated, “Interior design as a segment in India is witnessing double-digit growth. The luxury market is evolving fast and people are more conscious of international brands. This was the best time to offer our customers something as exclusive as the Andrew Martin experience.”

Talking about his decision to showcase the Andrew Martin label through apartment9, Mr. Martin Waller, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the UK based brand said, “Right now, India is a major focus area for us. This is the best time to tap into this nascent market as customers are still developing awareness on high-end furnishings. We have had a decade long association with apartment9 and were already collaborating with them in some capacity. This tie-up enables us to harness our synergies in the best possible manner.”

Registering a growth of nearly 60% YoY, interior design market in India is growing at a blistering pace. Another major trend of recent times is the spate in the growth of branded luxury residences further fuelling demand for premium home décor products.

Founded in 2005, apartment9 has been designing, manufacturing and retailing world class soft and hard home furnishings aimed at the top end of the market. This latest association with Andrew Martin is expected to help both the UK based brand and apartment9 tap into the rapidly growing luxury segment.

Expected spinoffs from this collaboration would possibly include full- fledged interior design projects. While Martin is known for his international projects, apartment9 has been undertaking turn-key projects of 10000 sq. feet plus. The tie-up would also result in Andrew Martin’s international launches being synchronized with the Indian market.
