Matchmaster Dyeing acquires Massif Mountain

Massif Mountain Gear Company, a supplier of flame resistant apparels has been acquired by Los Angeles based Samtech, LLC, a subsidiary of Matchmaster Dyeing & Finishing, Inc.
Samtech bought almost all assets of Massif Mountain Gear for $10.2 million through an auction approved by United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
Samtech overbid another bidder, an affiliate of Sun Capital and the process was completed in record time, in light of the fact that the debtor and the other bidder had set an accelerated schedule.
Samtech said the Massif brand will be maintained and that the acquisition will enhance Massif’s supply chain through vertical integration, product innovation and rapid prototyping capabilities.
At the same time, the deal offers Matchmaster with an expanded infrastructure to meet the global needs of the civilian & military flame resistant clothing industry.
“The Matchmaster team has worked closely with Massif on development of flame resistant fabrics and garments so are very excited about this acquisition,” said Bill Tenenblatt of Samtech.
He added, “It is a natural outgrowth of our long-standing partnership and we look forward to our next phase as one team.”
