Kenyan apparel exports to US worth $371.66 mn

Kenya is among the top countries in Sub-Saharan Africa exporting apparel to the United States, with $371.66 million worth of such exports, industrialisation, trade and cooperatives cabinet secretary Peter Munya told the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) conference in Nairobi recently. He was reading out President Uhuru Kenyatta’s speech.
Kenya will commence direct flights to the United States, providing an added advantage for Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) exports, a Kenyan news agency report quoted Munya as saying.
The president confirmed in his message that the Kenyan Government has strengthened the regulatory and legal framework for investment. (DS)
