In this fast pace world of today, where everything seems to be changing at supersonic speed, no-fuss easy-to-maintain products for daily use such as fuss-free clothing like loungewear or the age-old favourite cool soft pyjamas are soon gaining popularity.

With the corporate world gradually embracing the more relaxed Friday casual dressing approach in offices, the acceptance of the simple colourful climate appropriate pyjama sets as daywear is also gaining momentum and more and more international brands are launching their innovative lines of stylish loungewear, which were earlier dismissed as frumpy ill-fitted unfashionable attires that could be worn only in the comforts of home.

“Once reserved solely for the bedroom – pyjamas, now commonly referred to as ‘loungewear’ have made the transition into daywear. Whether it be a full set or seperates mixed in with daywear– the Summer of 2014 will be remembered as the year of ‘Sleepwear and the City’,” said the Spokesperson for the British multinational retailer Debenhams, Lizzie Singleton, in a statement.

“Our designer sleepwear has seen the biggest sales increase with colourful floral prints proving most popular – as nightwear becomes more trend lead, many shoppers see it as a shame to resign it solely to the bedroom,” she adds while commenting on the purveyor’s nightwear sales increase of 34 percent.

With the rising acceptability of the comfortable garment, the fashion savvy young generation is also coming up with new quirky ideas to perk up the on-trend pyjama-cum-daywear look by teaming the bottoms with versatile separates like tailored jackets and the tops with pants or skirts.

Another British high-street giant Topshop has also launched several instalments of celebrity endorsed Pyjama dressing collections. One of those lust-worthy lines includes a paisley print adorned two-piece kimono overcoat and pants set modelled by the London-based fashion model Kate Moss.
