In a first for the fashion industry in India, Amazon.in and FDCI brought in WGSN, the world's leading fashion and consumer trend forecasting service, to unveil the Spring/Summer 2016 Global Trends Insights for women's wear. The presentation at the Amazon India Fashion Week in New Delhi gave an outline of macro trend forecasts and clear visual themes that will dominate the upcoming season's fashion demand.

The trend presentation will be another input to sellers, designers, retailers and the fashion industry at large to support their ability to deliver the latest fashion-rich offerings to customers. Derived from a broad range of research from catwalks and editorials to street style and directional retail, the briefing includes detailed insights on colour, fabrics, and patterns with key styles in apparels and accessories. The content also covers fashion concepts presented through insightful imagery with a strong product focus to provide tangible takeaways on not-to-miss global and local ethnic-wear trends.

Speaking about the evolution of the retail landscape worldwide, Catriona Macnab, Head of Fashion WGSN said “With the advent of the digitalization, the trade channels across nationalities have felt an emerging need to plan and trade their product range with confidence for commercial success (maximum margin and sell through rate). WGSN, a world leading trend authority, has been playing a key role here by providing trusted information, insight and inspiration through directional and commercial themes that will ignite the creative process further. We are delighted to join hands with Amazon.in and the Indian fashion fraternity in this endeavour and will continue to make our contributions to the journey of digital economy. The WGSN presentation offers coverage that includes design, commercial success, and key information with local Indian trend and retail analysis and much more.”

“We are delighted at this association of WGSN and Amazon.in to bring global trends handy to Indian designers and consumers. We strongly believe that these insightful trends will further support our designers in projecting their creations in line with the latest trends,” said Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI. (SH)
