For the Rio Olympics, various sportswear retailers like Nike, Adidas and Under Armour have developed high tech apparel for various Olympic game streams, which will help athletes trim seconds in their respective games.

In today's competitive times, despite years of training put in by these Olympians, the right and high-tech clothing, help in shaving off seconds to a great extent, which finally determines a winner or loser.

For instance, Speedo swimsuits created heroes out of swimmer Michael Phelps and other swimmers at the earlier Olympics and also helped them win medals and also create new records.

Nike has used 3D printing technology to develop air-resistance protrusions, which are embedded in track suits for several teams for the Rio Olympics.

Adidas developed swimsuits to keep swimmers in ideal form through body scanners and used elastic-like bands, which keep bodies in streamlined positions, thereby reducing drag and propelling swimmers. (AR)
