Reebok to rerelease Question Mid “Why Not Us?”

Reebok, a worldwide designer and distributor of fitness and lifestyle footwear, apparel and equipment, has officially confirmed the rerelease of its Question Mid “Why Not Us?”. The Question Mid “Why Not Us?” will be available from March 6 in full-family sizing exclusively at Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Footaction, as well as Reebok.com.

A bring back of the black-toe model issued by the brand in 2006, the sneaker was most notably worn five years earlier by Allen Iverson during the historic 2001 east-west exhibition in which he earned MVP accolades after leading his team to an improbable comeback victory, as Reebok stated in a press release.

“Everybody was saying we couldn't win because of our size,” Iverson recalled during the post-game press conference. “It's about the size of your heart. Coming into the fourth quarter, we were all sitting on the sideline saying: Why not us?”

On the shoulders of Iverson and his 15-point fourth-quarter scoring surge, the east stormed back from a 21-point deficit in the game’s final nine minutes, defeating what was a daunting western line-up led by Shaquille O’Neal and the league’s biggest stars.

During the game, Iverson sported an unreleased, unnamed black-toe pair of his signature Question Mid. Five years later, in 2006, Reebok would bring the silhouette to market under the moniker: “Why Not Us?”.

Like many of his iconic signature Reebok sneakers, Iverson’s Question Mid “Why Not Us?” is remembered as so much more than a basketball shoe, it’s a beacon for the underdogs and, like AI, a symbol of adversity and triumph.

Today, the Question Mid “Why Not Us?” (GX5260) returns with its original high-contrast black toe box, the “Reebok” wordmark and Vector logos running up the ghillie lacing system and embroidered “3” and “Question” logos at the heel, all brought together by a classic all-white leather upper seated atop its translucent black outsole. The sneaker is also made available for up-and-comers creating their own “Why Not Us?” story with grade school (GW5229), preschool (GW5208) and toddler (GW5227) offerings.
