Ayan & Preetika

Mumbai October 23, 2008: Ayan and Preetika Sarkar's debut collection for Spring/Summer 2009 titled "A Pristine Aliveness" was a creative mix of Spanish style with Indian abstract motifs, under their label Couturewala. The vibrant colours, intricate embroidery, some interesting cuts in soft georgettes, silk and cottons had the inspiration of candelabras of Barcelona, delicate leaves and shades of Kolkata for abstract prints and Chantilly lace that were turned into pretty feminine ensembles. There was a touch of nostalgia and an old world charm about the collection. Gold tights were teamed with multi patched silk tunics in muted shades with touches of embroidery and the saris were richly embroidered making the collection a perfect blend of fusion wear.
