Amazon.in has launched Amazon Classroom, an interactive online training programme with courses to impart online selling skills to new sellers on the marketplace with a view to transform the way India sells. It focuses on areas such as order processing, adding products and managing returns that are required to operate a successful online business.

Open to all sellers who are less than a month old on Amazon.in, the programme creates a virtual classroom for sellers. It will be available for new sellers across categories where they can register for these online classroom sessions and get the opportunity to understand the nuances of online selling workflows in a guided environment with free practice sessions.

With Amazon Classroom, all new sellers can perform demos of their seller account dashboard through interactive courses at their own pace. They get the flexibility to redo the steps, clear their doubts and get trained by Amazon experts with an end-to-end demo on how to use the seller portal, in real-time while doing the course. Amazon Classroom also lets sellers interact with each other and get them to learn in a collaborative way.

Sellers can also revisit the content that is covered in the classroom, download topic related files, participate in poll questions to test their knowledge and understanding and even chat with experts to get their queries resolved.

"Since our launch in 2013, we have been instrumental in enabling thousands of Indian sellers start, manage and grow their business on Amazon.in. As we enter the new financial year, we encourage thousands more to leverage our marketplace and make the most of India's growing digital economy. Amazon Classroom has been specially created for these new sellers who are seeking to learn these skills as they begin their online journey," said Gopal Pillai, director and general manager, seller services, Amazon India.

"We have received 99 per cent positive feedback from the sellers who attended these online classroom sessions, which has resulted in a positive increase in their performance as well. Our philosophy has always been to work backwards from our seller needs and innovating on their behalf and Amazon Classroom is another step in that direction. We look forward to enabling them in these new & exciting times for digital commerce in the country," added Pillai.

"For a new seller like me, understanding the very basics of online shopping is of utmost importance in order to grow my business profitably on Amazon. With Amazon Classroom, I not only can go through the detailed training sessions, but can also try each step in real time during the session and even get all my doubts cleared at the same time through trained experts. It was indeed a great experience to go through the session and I will definitely implement the learnings to scale my business," said Manoj Chouhan, a seller on Amazon.in.

As part of its vision of transforming the way India sells, Amazon.in has been working extensively to launch services that meet different business requirements of sellers and help them grow their business profitably online. From offering Fulfilment By Amazon, innovating Easy Ship, launching Seller Flex, introducing Amazon Tatkal, to building the largest storage capacity in ecommerce in India for sellers to the tune of 7.5 million cubic feet, Amazon.in has been helping sellers reach millions of customers across the country.

The company launched a Special Lending Program for sellers last year that enables them to easily access secured and unsecured loans between Rs 5 lakh to 2 crore from their partners Capital First and Yes Bank. Its Global Selling Program launched in India in May 2015 has over 20,000 sellers today selling their 'Made in India' products on Amazon's ten global marketplaces to millions of active worldwide customers.
