Amazon patents 'blended-reality mirror' technology

US retail giant Amazon has patented a ‘blended reality system’ technology that could bring a blended-reality display into existence. The display technology, manufacturing and price details of which are yet to be disclosed, combines the images reflected by the mirror with images transmitted from a screen behind the mirror to create a blended image.
The system will use projectors to illuminate the object in front of the mirror and leave out parts based on what it wants to reflect. The illumination created by the projector will then be reflected by the mirror to create a blended picture of the object, leading technology portals across the world reported.
A similar technology developed earlier by Amazon was called the Amazon Echo Look, which uses artificial intelligence to help you choose what to wear. (DS)
