Central to add six more stores this fiscal

The Kishore Biyani led Future Group is adding six more stores under its Central brand retail format by the end of this fiscal, which will take the Central store count to 40. Future Group is doing so by opening new stores in tier II and III emerging markets, while adding new stores in existing cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai.
"We have plans to add 2.5 million square feet this fiscal by opening six more Central stores,” media reports quoted Kishore Biyani as saying, while inaugurating the 34th store in Delhi, which will house over 500 brands.
Central currently manages 33 stores in big cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad and also in smaller cities like Surat, Patna, Vadodara, and Indore.
Kishore Biyani added that the Future Group would continue to grow 20 to 30 per cent every fiscal, with the growth mainly coming from the fashion, home and food categories. (AR)
