Nagesh, along with an experienced 4-member CXO Committee is ensuring smooth transition. The company is hopeful of filling up the position in the next 90 days, Nagesh said during a conference call today to discuss the 'Organizational Changes and Next Steps' at Shoppers Stop—India's premier retailer of fashion and beauty brands.
"We have worked for 1 to 1.5 years to plan our strategy for the next 5 years, and accordingly we have made investments. Our endeavour will be to work on the strategy that is already in place, even after the joining of the new incumbent," Nagesh said during the conference call.
Elaborating on the omni-channel strategy, Nagesh said they have seen much better traction during the last few months on their online portal shoppersstop.com, and online customers can be better served if there is a retail store nearby from where the product can be picked up and delivered. So, both brick-and-mortar and online would go hand-in-hand.
The 30-year old brand sees a huge opportunity in tier-2, tier-3 and tier-4 cities, where it has come up with a smaller format of retail space. However, all its current capex plans, including new store openings, are currently put on hold as the company is in a "blackout period", Nagesh informed.
