US company produces flags using Repreve recycled fibre

Repatriot Flag, a company producing US flags is making environmentally friendly flags using Repreve recycled fibre, which is manufactured by Unifi. Each flag is made from 10 recycled water bottles and till date Repatriot Flag has used fabrics equivalent to nearly 30,000 plastic bottles, which otherwise would have landed up in landfills.

The founder of Repatriot Flag, Sam Russo, is a veteran of two combat tours in Afghanistan who also donates a portion of its proceeds to support veteran organisations like Operation Enduring Warrior and Team Red, White and Blue.

“To me, the concept of recycled plastic bottles transforming into the Repatriot Flag makes our product the most patriotic American flag you can fly. They are environmentally friendly, veteran-founded and focused, and 100 per cent made in the United States,” Sam Russo said

“We are proud to be working with an organisation that supports US veterans and does so much to honour our country, while offering products that are environmentally conscious,” Jay Hertwig, vice president of global brand sales at Unifi also said. (AR)
