Polartec, the premium provider of innovative textile solutions, is supporting the Boston One Fund, a non-profit launched to help those most affected by the Boston Marathon bombings last year.

Polartec, based just outside of Boston, has outfittted 50 Boston One Fund runners with high performance Polartec Alpha garments for training and running, and the brand will donate $100 for each One Fund runner .

“Last year’s tragedy hit really close to home for us," says Allon Cohne, Polartec Global Director of Marketing. "We have many family and friends participating in this fantastic tradition, and this year we wanted to provide fabric and financial support. We know runners train in all kinds of weather so we wanted the One Fund runners to test the latest active insulation technology from Polartec. This is Boston after all, so we’ll see what Mother Nature brings race day.”

Expanding on its support of trail running, Polartec is sponsoring the third annual Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji, a 168km trail race around the foothills of Mt. Fuji in Japan. Polartec has been a supporter of major trail running events since 2004, beginning with the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.

With its expansion of trail running fabrics including Polartec Power Dry, Polartec Alpha and Polartec NeoShell, Polartec is now partnered with three Ultra-Trail World Tour Events and co-sponsors Team Vibram, a professional trail running team from Italy.
