Albany International Corp a global advanced textiles and materials processing company exhibited at INDEX 14 held at Geneva in Switzerland at stall no. 2561.

Albany International has two core businesses. Machine Clothing and Albany Engineered Composites. Machine Clothing is the world's leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential for production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries and Albany Engineered Composites is a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry.

The Machine Clothing segment includes two product families of fabrics and belts: Paper Machine Clothing and Engineered Fabrics.

Albany International is the world’s leading producer of Paper Machine Clothing (PMC), which consists of solution-focused, custom-designed fabrics and belts that are critical for the formation and transport of the paper sheet through the paper machine.

Although PMC represents a small proportion (approximately 2 percent) of the total cost to manufacture paper, paperboard, pulp, or tissue, it can have a significant impact on the quality of the paper, the efficiency of a machine, and machine production rates.

The Engineered Fabrics business of Albany International manufactures specialized woven and nonwoven products that are used in a range of industries other than papermaking. With thriving operations on five continents, the business is comprised of six distinct product lines, each dedicated to delivering innovative technologies to customers in both existing and developing markets.

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops and manufactures a full portfolio of composite materials, products, and technologies. The core strength of its technologies is the ability to control fiber reinforcement positioning and distribution – and thus strength and material properties – throughout each product that it designs.

This capability enables it to engineer composite products to meet specific functional requirements – be they complex load bearing requirements, thermal needs, specialized acoustic performance or a mix of properties. With this flexibility, its products can meet performance targets that are unattainable with conventional laminated composite or metallic components.

Its engineered solutions include and combine:
- Complex multi-direction reinforced and 3D woven composite products
- Non-traditional and traditional laminates, or 2D woven composites
- Complex geometry fabrication capabilities
- Steered woven, contour woven, and braided structures
- Sandwich reinforced structures
- Discrete through-thicknessreinforcement materials and technologies
- Preform and conventional fabric or pre-preg layup
- Multiple curing methods including RTM, VaRTM, autoclave, press, compression & oven cure processes
