Garmatex Technologies, Inc., an industry disrupting inventor and supplier of scientifically-engineered performance fabrics and apparel technologies, announces the start of a five year licensing deal with San Diego-based Cool-jams, maker of temperature regulating women’s and men’s sleepwear and bedding. Sleepwear alone is a $7+ billion dollar market, world-wide.

Founder and CEO of Cool-jams, Anita Mahaffey, started making some of the world’s most cooling pajamas in 2007. Her business revenues have doubled every year since. Last year, the company started on a track of “dramatic growth” when she took on a strategic partnership with Garmatex, which supplies Cool-jams with its Kottinu material, a ground breaking microfiber with all the comfort of natural cotton, plus advanced wicking and drying properties. The Garmatex fabric lasts six times longer than natural cotton and keeps its color with minimal fading.

“Kottinu is the best wicking product and the most effective night-sweat pajama solution that I’ve found and the fabric is ideally suited to Cool-jams’ line of travel pajamas,” says Cool-jams’ Anita Mahaffey. “With an enhanced product, our sales have been brisk this past year.”

In May 2013, the prestigious trade magazine Apparel honored Cool-jams as one of the top 40 innovative apparel companies in the U.S. This honor was awarded to Cool-jams for their innovative approach to marketing products, as well as their scientifically advanced fabrics and products.

“Cool-jams has thousands of satisfied return customers and a growing online business. We are confident that ‘the Power of X’ (Garmatex) and cool PJs spells success. We see lots of potential to expand Cool-jams offerings beyond sleepwear,” says Martin Doane, Garmatex’s CEO. “We also see making the product a household name, by displaying it on shelves in national chains and department stores throughout North America, Asia and Europe.”

Mahaffey remains active as CEO of the business and is looking forward to the new frontier ahead for Cool-jams: “this has been a great adventure so far and I’m excited about the future.”
