INDA to host 'Nonwoven Filter Media Training Course'

On the sidelines of Filtration2014 International Conference & Exposition, INDA is organising a ‘Nonwoven Filter Media Training Course’ on November 18-19, 2014 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland – USA.

Nanofiber technology is a growing interest for filter media professionals and the course will help attendees learn more about nanofibers, which are fibers with diameters less than 100 nanometers and the important role they play in air and liquid filtration, INDA said.

Among a few areas from which attendees will learn about nanofiber technologies are; why choose nanofibers; how nanofibers are produced; how to structure nanofibers in filter media; recent developments in air and liquid filtration; and market trends, challenges and opportunities.

In air filtration, technologies which will be discussed include – meltblown, spunbond, wetlaid, needlepunched, and others – in residential, industrial, HVAC, personal protection, transportation, and gas turbines.

On the topic of liquid filtration, principles of liquid filtration, major segments, nonwovens in liquid filtration, standards, testing, market and technology trends will be discussed.

Christine Sun, PhD and Principal of Textile Research Associates will be guiding filter media professionals through the intricacies of the air, liquid, and nanotechnology markets. Christine is a globally recognized technical and market expert in nonwovens and filter media industry.

After the two-day comprehensive course, attendees will receive a complimentary pass to attend the Filtration2014 exposition and conference, INDA said.
