Unihoc, a Swedish producer of floorball equipment has developed what it calls the world’s lightest floorball stick made from TeXtreme Spread Tow carbon fabrics and weighs just 183 grams.

According to Oxeon AB, the producers of TeXtreme, TeXtreme Spread Tow carbon reinforcements are a unique kind of composite reinforcement suitable when looking to reduce weight and improve mechanical properties.

“Many sports have seen the use of TeXtreme make an immediate and dominant impact on performance from Formula 1 racing, Americas Cup, advanced aerospace, bicycles and in addition, over 400 NHL players use sticks reinforced by this carbon fiber technology,” Oxeon informs.

“Companies utilizing the TeXtreme technology achieve better properties on weight, stiffness, strength, etc, on their composite products compared to those using other carbon fibre materials,” it adds.

In 1972, Unihoc was founded by the same man who invented floorball, Carl Åke Ahlqvist and is the world’s largest manufacturer of floorball equipment and serves customers in over 60 countries.

“We are pleased to partner up with Unihoc, which is known for their innovation and is persistently thriving to push development and they were a natural partner, since we share those same values of constantly finding innovative solutions for our customers”, says Henrik Blycker, CEO of Oxeon AB.
