PrimaLoft debuts solution combining breathability & warmth

Developer of high-performance insulations and fabrics, PrimaLoft said it has debuted Silver Insulation Active, an insulation solution offering breathability and unmatched warmth that is designed specifically for high-output adventures.

“The construction of PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Active enables excess heat and moisture to escape, keeping the user comfortable and dry, while also allowing product designers to utilize a much wider variety of breathable outer and liner fabrics,” it added.

A proprietary finish and manufacturing process locks tiny PrimaLoft fibres in place, preventing them from migrating through fabrics thus allowing usage with more breathable, open weave materials.

This construction allows PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Active to be paired with a wide variety of shell and liner fabrics, including those with high breathability, as well as varying colours, fibres and design structures.

According to PrimaLoft, the addition of Silver Insulation Active to the company’s product line-up offers its global brand partners the opportunity to create extensions within their lines for a wider variety of activity-based goods.

Launch partners for PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Active include Helly Hansen, Houdini, L.L.Bean, Lands’ End, Mammut, Marmot, Montane, Musto, Norrona, Odlo, Puma, Roots, Under Armour and Vaude. It said, fall 2015 samples will be on display during January’s Outdoor Retailer Winter Market.
