Crocs Inc, manufacturer and retailer of this year's latest 'it' shoe, has implemented enterprise management and point-of-sale software from Alpha Retail Technology.
Since 2002, Crocs has taken the shoe industry by storm, providing comfortable 'light-as-air' shoes in eight different models and a rainbow assortment of colors. It is growing exponentially and Crocs shoes are now available in 6,200 retail locations throughout the United States including Nordstrom, Dillard's, Sports Authority, and REI.
Crocs has opened more than 40 company stores with an additional 60 expected by the end of 2006. It has expanded their retail presence worldwide, selling Crocs shoes and apparel in retail outlets in Europe, Asia, Australia, and through the Internet.
On Wednesday, February 8th 2006, Crocs made their IPO stock market debut making this deal the biggest-ever US footwear IPO.
In 2005, Crocs realized they needed to replace their multiple systems and manual processes with an integrated, computerized, real-time solution. They selected Alpha Retail Technology's Enterprise Edition system to automate inventory, receiving, and ordering processes. Enterprise Edition streamlines the transfer and sharing of data, reducing retail operational costs and improving the ability to service their customers.
Enterprise Edition provides the solution for Crocs to achieve their aggressive store opening schedule. Alpha Retail's management software supports the swift addition of clerks, stores, and inventory. Advanced matrix functionality allows Crocs to easily add and manage products by style, color, and size.
