City Blue implements Alpha Retail POS & Enterprise Management System

With 35 locations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Ohio, City Blue Inc is the premiere retail store for all that is hip and trendy when it comes to urban apparel. As one website surmises, if you can't find it – you haven't shopped City Blue.
In an environment where today's hottest selling item can become tomorrow's fashion faux pas, inventory visibility across the enterprise is vital. “Because trends change in the blink of an eye, we needed a system that could track our merchandise and sales information in real-time,” says Kfir Yuster, IT Director for City Blue.
Automatic re-ordering is also critical for City Blue to maintain adequate inventory and to prevent overstocking. According to Yuster, when an item appears in a music video or is worn by a celebrity, sales increase dramatically for a period of time. AlphaERS 2.0 takes into account these cyclical trends and suggests appropriate reorders. “The system's performance and reporting has been flawless,” concludes Yuster.
With the tremendous success of City Blue stores expansion plans are always on the horizon. In the selection of a new retail solution a major consideration for City Blue was the inherent capability of the system to accommodate changes in business processes and scale. City Blue recognized that AlphaERS contained built-in features to accompany rapid expansion.
“Our robust software was designed to provide retailers with control of their operations from point of sale to supply chain,” says Dr. Simon Cotter, VP Technology for Alpha Retail.
