Esko will introduce the new Kongsberg table RotaCut Tool at FESPA 2007, Berlin June 5-9, 2007. The new cutting tool has been specifically developed for cutting printed textiles and will be demonstrated on the Kongsberg i-XL24 digital finishing table for short run production of signs, displays, POPs, and packaging.
Esko RotaCut Tool for textiles In addition to rigid materials, for which the Kongsberg i-XL finishing tables have been widely used, Esko has considerably expanded the number of sign materials that can be cut with the new RotaCut Tool. The tool is targeted at textile-based printing promotional materials such as flags and banners.
“One of the reasons Kongsberg tables are so successful is due to the wide variety of materials they can process. Our goal is to make our tables as versatile as possible, capable of handling an ever wider variety of different substrates, from rigid to flexible."
"With the continued popularity of digitally printed textile signs and displays, Esko identified the need to create another cutting tool,” remarks Tom Naess, Esko Product Manager. “The RotaCut Tool offers our clients the opportunity to serve on this major segment of sign materials.”
Megaprint, based in Norway, has already equipped their Kongsberg table with the textile-cutting tool. Mr. Sigurd Hammerstad, Megaprint General Manager explains, “The difficulty with textile cutting is that the material moves so easily with air currents that it is hard to hold down while cutting."
