Mercado Software announced that evo, a leading retailer of outdoor equipment and apparel for ski, board, and skate enthusiasts, has launched Mercado On-Demand on its online store, Evogear.
Early in 2007, evo decided to improve its eCommerce results by upgrading their site's search and navigation – to make it more powerful and improve the customer experience. With approximately 75% of their business coming from evogear.com, they knew that providing an easy-to-use and customer-friendly experience was critical to their brand and bottom-line success.
“We've been really pleased with Mercado's site search and navigation, as it makes it a lot easier for our customers to seek out or to discover cool new gear,” said Nathan Decker, director of eCommerce at evo. “Our customers don't want to spend a lot of time shopping online – if they can't easily find the perfect board, they won't buy it. Findability is central to effective eCommerce.”
The ease of use of Mercado's merchandising console enables evo's online merchandisers to create, develop and publish customized product and promotional landing pages. “We continually customize and fine-tune landing pages to refine the customer experience. The sum of these incremental improvements is a dramatically enhanced shopping experience,” said Decker.
“Mercado also enables our merchandisers to quickly and easily optimize our landing pages for SEO. It just takes them a few minutes. They don't need to know how to program, they don't need to know HTML.”
