Robert Finch joins Canesis as GM of Textiles Division

Natural fibres developing company Canesis Network Ltd appointed Dr Robert Finch as General Manager (GM) of Textiles for the company with effec from Thursday, 22 September 2005.
In making the announcement, Canesis CEO, Andrew Macpherson, noted that Dr Finch brings to this position a wide ranging experience in the production and evaluation of materials, especially apparel textiles and fibre-reinforced composite materials, and a keen appreciation of the role of innovation and consumer needs in textiles.
Mr MacPherson said that his extensive knowledge and understanding of the global textile industry will be hugely valuable in helping drive the future development of this most important element of the Canesis organization.
Dr Finch joined Canesis in February 2004 as Research and Technology Marketing Manager for the Textiles Division, with responsibility for marketing Canesis services to the global textile industry. Prior to joining Canesis, Dr Finch's previous experience includes six years as Group Manager, Technical Marketing for The Woolmark Company (TWC) based in Ilkley, UK.
He has also spent time in an academic and research role at the University of Adelaide in the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, as well as operating his own small consultancy business in Australia.
His qualifications include a first class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a PhD in Materials Engineering. He has also spent time at London Business School, completing an accelerated development programme covering all areas of strategic and business management and, more recently, gained a Graduate Diploma in Wine Business from Adelaide University.
