Leading brands from across the UK and Ireland's textile and apparel sectors convened in Manchester earlier this month for Syscom's latest Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile seminar.

Specifically developed for companies that manufacture or distribute clothing and textile based products, this innovative business application is designed to manage complex inventory and distribution variables with industry specific functionality, such as multi-dimensional item coding, that allows for a wide range of item identifiers including style, colour, size and finish.

Following the successful launch of the software in May at Microsoft's campus in Reading, Syscom are running a series of events around the country for those who wish to find out more about this business application.

“We chose to hold this seminar in Manchester as it is historically the dominant international centre for textile manufacture,” says John Moses, Managing Director of Syscom.

Delegates attending the seminar were able to view this latest Microsoft Dynamics software and heard first-hand about the benefits of the software from rapidly expanding supplier of leisure clothing, Weird Fish.

“Global competition and the increasing complexity of dispersed supply networks make it more important than ever for apparel and textile businesses to have the correct systems in place.” says Sally Reynolds, Marketing Manager of Syscom PLC. “Many organisations are still struggling with information systems that aren't able to cope with the unique requirements of the textile and apparel industries. As Microsoft's industry solution for the apparel and textile sectors, Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile provides companies with the key functionality they need to remain profitable and competitive in today's market alongside a familiar interface and tight integration with other Microsoft products.”

As a follow-up to the event, Syscom will be holding an online demonstration on Tuesday 9th December. “This is the perfect opportunity for those who were unable to attend the seminar to discover how Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile can make their business more profitable, competitive and efficient,” says Sally. “The webinar will let those logged on experience the look and feel of the software, as well as allowing them to ask a qualified Microsoft consultant any questions they may have. All you need is an internet connection and a phone.”
