Mainetti selects UST Global for worldwide Oracle ERP upgrade

UST GlobalSM, a leading provider of IT services and solutions for Global 1000 enterprises, announced it was awarded a contract from Mainetti Corporation to provide ERP and supply chain consulting services to support Mainetti's global business needs. Mainetti is the world's market leader in manufacturing and distribution of apparel hangars, with offices around the world.

Mainetti wanted real-time, more accurate visibility into its inventories and assets globally. The initial engagement with UST involves upgrading Mainetti's Oracle EnterpriseOne ERP system to the latest release. This upgrade project will leverage EnterpriseOne features and technical enrichments, allowing Mainetti to maximize the application's full set of offerings.

The EnterpriseOne system will support a platform for the launch of a global ERP deployment strategy, enabling Mainetti to standardize business processes, gain inventory visibility across its global supply chain and leverage the cost advantages of consolidating IT support functions associated with managing orders and inventory. UST is well positioned to assist Mainetti with this initiative through its deep ERP knowledge and global delivery capabilities.

“We needed a strong, savvy Oracle ERP provider and were not willing to settle on any vendor that did not meet our needs. Most vendors have strengths, but their expertise lies in either the business realm (Big 3) or in the technical area (boutique vendors). But rarely does a vendor have both. UST is a company with both business and technical acumen along with a global engagement model,” said Paul Tai, head of the IT Committee at Mainetti. “UST has a talented team with extensive business and technical expertise, leading ERP-focused teams. We wanted access to their expertise and are eager to work with a company whose culture and values align very well with ours.”

In addition to the technology upgrade, UST will provide management consulting services to optimize Mainetti's internal business processes. UST will also recommend and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure supply chain performance with the objective of minimizing cost and maximizing order throughput.

UST Global is a U.S.-based firm that provides project services to the Asian market – specifically Southeast Asia.

“We are focused on increasing our delivery capability in Asia because it is an important extension of business operations for our top clients and there is a growing need for ERP,” said Bharath Krishnaswamy, general manger, Asia, UST Global. “The solution we are building for Hong Kong-based Mainetti will be rolled out globally. This is a landmark engagement and account win for us.”

Mainetti had a solution that had not been properly implemented by a local, regional vendor. The results of the project led to inefficient business processes, higher transaction costs and left Mainetti disappointed with its ERP solution.

A new release of Oracle EnterpriseOne offered some relief from the pain Mainetti felt. It was then challenged with selecting the right partner for the upgrade. Mainetti evaluated several big name vendors along with UST. Since UST maintains competency in Oracle's premier packages including PeopleSoft, E-Business, EnterpriseOne and Seibel, Mainetti found UST to be a competitive alternative to the traditional tier one Oracle implementers. UST's added focus on Oracle Database, Fusion Middleware and Integration products made it a strategic choice to deliver both package application services and customized solutions.
