Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) hosted Synthesis '09 – an annual programme with dissertation and felicitation of the award winning research by Business and Technology and Retail Department of the year 2009. Attended by the eminent personalities from textile, apparel, media & government, the event marked PAF student's entry into a professional world. Guest of Honour Mr Badal Chaudhari, CEO, Numero Uno, graced the occasion by his valuable presence.

Synthesis recognises the best research done by the students and awards them for their work. Students were given an opportunity to make formal presentations and address queries raised by industry members. The objective of the presentations was to familiarize the industry with the kinds of research done by the students and the resultant findings and recommendations.

This year over thirty three projects were displayed from topics ranging from quality, domestic marketing, technology, consumer behaviour, brand launching, retail, inventory management etc. The event saw the presence of some of the leading domestic and export companies taking deep interest in the potential demonstrated by various managerial applications on show. All students were given a chance to interact with industry visitors on a one-on-one basis.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion proudly said “Synthesis provides a platform that encourages students to learn beyond the text books. The event is an integration of the learning that the students have had during their education at the academy. The research addresses the problems and opportunities in the apparel industry. Year after year, we have observed that students constantly strive hard to win the awards. I congratulate the winners and look forward to some extra-ordinary work next year as well!”

The export and domestic fashion sectors view 'Synthesis' as an opportunity to tap talent for their organisations.
