IMB Select – the success story continues

It's new and yet it's well-established. With IMB Select 2010, Koelnmesse has launched a new trade fair format, which is already meeting with strong approval from the exhibitor focus groups. This positive start is not merely a result of the compact, jointly developed concept, but also stems from a consistent focus on the entire textile supply chain.

The event builds on the knowledge and expertise arising from eight years of the IMB Forum and its focus on IT solutions for the textile-processing industries. "Our strength lies in the experience and expertise that we have acquired in this area. That and the fact that in IMB Select we have created an innovative format, is what distinguishes us from other trade fair locations," says Udo Traeger, head of the Furniture, Interior Design and Textiles division at Koelnmesse.

The scope of innovations at IMB Select can be seen, for example, in the communication channels that the event exploits. At the end of January, not only the media but also prospective exhibitors and visitors worldwide had the opportunity to gain an insider's view into the life of the trade fair in the first live transmission from IMB Select TV.

Following the kick-off with Yvonne Heinen-Foudeh, Marketing & Communications Director Europe of Gerber Technology, answering questions, Klaus Weber, CEO of Saarbrücken-based INTEX EDV-Software GmbH, is expected for the next interview. The second IMB Select TV programme will be transmitted on 22 March 2010. Its themes will include responses to the increasing internationalisation of European brands, and what opportunities will result from this for process optimisation throughout the value-added chain.

The themes of the accompanying conference programme will be equally innovative and forward-looking. The supporting programme will be opened on Tuesday 9 November 2010 by two sequences of the well-established exhibitor presentations under the heading "Speakers' Corner". Starting at 10.00 am and only interrupted by a 20-minute break after four presentations, the companies will each present their new products and services in 20-minute time slots up to the lunch break at 1.00 pm. After the lunch break, at 2.00 pm, the conference presentations will begin under the heading:
In Line with the Future – Enhancing International Collaboration.

Session 1 will feature four presentations under the heading: "In Line with the Future: Sourcing & Production Line Management". After a 20-minute break these will be followed in Session 2 by four more presentations under the heading: "In Line with the Future: Manufacturing Management". The presentations will end at 5.20 pm and are followed by the traditional exhibitors' and guests' get-together starting at 6.00 pm. Wednesday 10 November 2010 will start at 10.00 am with Session 3 of the conference programme: "In Line with the Future: Finished Goods & Retail Management". Following a 20-minute break it will be the exhibitors' turnagain. There will be three "Speakers' Corner" presentations each side of the lunch break from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm. The presentations will end at 3.00 pm to make room for the concluding highlight of IMB Select, the Future Talk. It runs from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm. To ensure the greatest possible relevance, the subject matter of the conference presentations and the special theme of the Future Talk will not be announced until closer to the event.

By staging IMB Select 2010 and IMB 2012, Koelnmesse GmbH confirms its position as a hub and marketplace at the heart of Europe for the handling and processing of textile and flexible materials in global business.
