Textile Compliance Guide EU & US CPSIA iPhone apps launched

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, has launched two iPhone mobile digital device applications (apps) in response to growing demand for instant access to key industry information by consumer goods testing, inspection and compliance professionals.
Intertek's new Textile Compliance Guide EU and US CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) apps are available to download for free at the online Apple App Store. The applications help consumer goods industry professionals to stay in the loop while they are on-the-go about regulations in the world of textile compliance and consumer product safety.
With testing, compliance and auditing regulations constantly changing, it is important that consumer goods industry professionals have access to key information wherever they are: in the office or laboratory, at a trade show or off-site at customer and vendor meetings. These apps offer quick reference and on-the-go access to practical and valuable industry resources.
The Textile Compliance Guide EU app covers major aspects of textiles, from fibers, yarns and fabrics through to finished products, in addition to legislation specific to the European Union and countries within the European Economic Area. The US CPSIA app contains the content of the Act by section and in full text, supplemented with frequently asked questions about compliance and safety testing requirements. CPSIA is designed to allow the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission to better regulate the safety of products made and imported for sale in the United States.
Since the apps were launched, there have been more than 500 downloads from users around the globe. As a result of industry interest and the success so far, Intertek will continue to develop additional apps for the iPhone and iPad™ mobile digital devices to deliver content relevant to customers in the consumer goods industry and other areas.
