Atul Colors, Rudolf participate in Ethiopian seminar

India based Atul Colors and Germany's Rudolf Chemicals were among the companies that participated in a seminar 'Dawn of Ethiopian Textile Industry on Global Horizon' held in Ethiopia last month. The seminar was organised by the Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute (ETIDI) in partnership with the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai.

Dr. GVG Rao, president, Atul Colors, and Dr. WA Schumann, MD, Rudolf Group, Germany addressed the audience on global scenario of textile, dyes and chemical industries. They also shared information on new products developed for efficient, competitive and sustainable textile processing.

The entire session received an overwhelming response and feedback from the attendees as well as the ETIDI staff participants. In particular, the presentation by Dr. GVG Rao was highly appreciated owing to the informative data shared on the trends in global textile industry and also about the recent developments in various segments like apparel, home furnishing and technical textiles, as well as the allied colorant and chemical industry.

In his inaugural speech, ETIDI director general Sileshi Lemma acknowledged and appreciated support rendered by Atul Ltd for providing exclusive technical service lab training to their staff at Atul. Also, during the concluding part of the seminar, the ETIDI staff who had attended this training at Atul shared their experience and the valuable knowledge they had gained.

The seminar witnessed participation of over 60 people from the Ethiopian textile industry, academic institutions and government organisations.

Informative presentations made by Professor GD Yadav, vice chancellor, ICT; Professor MD Teli, former dean, ICT; Professor RV Adivarekar, head, textiles department; and Dr. RD Kale, provided an enriching insight into academic research and innovative technologies.

Atul Ltd and Rudolf Group thanked Professor GD Yadav for providing the opportunity to interact with representatives of Ethiopian textile industry. Atul as a global dyestuff supplier, through the seminar contributed in enhancing technical competency and supporting the envisaged growth and transformation plan of the Ethiopian government to develop their textile industry.
