International designers have come up with the trend developments in their sights with ‘exploration’ as the main theme for the next upcoming version of Heimtextil (Jan 10-13, 2017), international trade fair for home and contract textiles. Driven by the vision of reviving the spirit of discovery, Trendtable has selected a variety of innovative materials, textures and new patterns for the international trade fair Heimtextil.

“Our Trendtable with its international participants is a place where immense creativity and a rich variety of cultural aspects meet. This results in some incredibly exciting views of the design of tomorrow,” reports Olaf Schmidt, vice president textiles and textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

Creatives from France, Japan, Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and the US recently discussed current trends in the fields of textiles, fashion, art and architecture. Trend predictions would be presented to the industry in advance in the month of September.

During the meeting in France, all the design studios presented their own trend predictions, which were then discussed and developed further. The designers presented a variety of materials and textures, colours and patterns from all over the world into the mix. At the end of the process, a mutual, globally applicable trend prognosis for the coming 18 months was established which would be realised in the form of the Heimtextil Trendbook and "Theme Park".

The results of the Trendtable and Heimtextil Trendbook 2017/18 will be presented to the public in advance of the trade fair as part of the Theme Park Preview on September 6, 2016 in Frankfurt. Designers from various design studios like Carlin International, Anne Marie Commandeur, Dan Project, WGSN and FranklinTill are working on Heimtextil trends 2017/2018. Carlin International (France) bears the main responsibility for the development of the Heimtextil trends 2017/18. (NA)
