The 2nd All African Leather Fair closes on a successful note

Ethiopian Leather Industries Association has been instrumental in promoting leather sector at the national and international level. The association has successfully staged 2 editions of All African Leather Fair.

The 2nd All African Leather Fair 2009 held during January 20-22, 2009 at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa was successful crossing the 1st All African Leather Fair 2008 parameters.

The 2nd AALF 2009 participated by 190 exhibitors and 8200 visitors from 36 countries, in which 65 exhibitors and 1200 visitors were who came from abroad. The Exhibiting and visiting countries included China, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Tanzania, South Africa, Somalia, Spain, Sudan, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Turkey, Tunisia, Thailand, Uganda, U.S.A., U.K, Yemen and Zambia.

Product display were leather shoes, all kinds of finished leather, shoe components and accessories, leather garments, leather goods like travel-ware, belts, handbags and wallets, machinery for shoe-making, stitching, sewing, dyers, leather chemicals, publications, consultancy services and Business Development organizations. Fashion show was the main side event and successfully done at the Millennium Fair ground.

Survey findings on the feedback received from 21 international and 70 national participants out of 190 exhibitors who gave their responses on their participation and over all organization of the fair revealed that satisfaction was expressed at the level of 87 %. Business transaction to the tune of over US $ 12 million was generated at the fair.

We are encouraged by the successful feedback on business generated and hopefully we shall be improving much for the next 3rd edition of AALF 2010 to be held January 20-22, 2010 at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
