TAI to organise conference on current textile scenario

The Ahmedabad unit of the Textile Association (India), or TAI, will organise a one day conference on ‘Global Textile Changing Scenario in Current Times’ as part of the celebration of 80th anniversary of TAI. The conference aims to provide a positive opportunity, where the country’s textile fraternity can benefit in enhancing its cumulative strength.

The conference, to be held on April 9, 2019, in Ahmedabad, is also aimed at creating a very positive global environment for all stakeholders. “It is expected that the programme will lead further to networking and business relationship among participants from various countries,” conference chairman TL Patel told Fibre2Fashion.

The topics for panel discussion at the event include: Global cotton scenario and India’s position; Under the new situation, how India can remain competitive in the global textile and apparel manufacturing industry; and Current status of chemical fibre: challenge and future developments.

Several dignitaries from the textile industry and heads of leading institutes and universities would be honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award’ during the inaugural ceremony of the conference.

Eminent personalities from the industry, academia, R&D institutions, government departments and policy makers are expected to attend the conference.

TAI is the largest body of textile professionals not only in the country, but also in the world. The conference will be hosted by Ahmedabad unit which is also the second largest TAI unit, with more than 3,000 members. (RKS)
