EFI shows innovative portfolio at AD & Sign Expo

Electronics For Imaging (EFI) showcased its broad, innovative portfolio, by exhibiting new print technologies at the recently concluded Shanghai International AD & Sign Expo.

A short distance away from the exhibition, EFI also hosted printers at an open house to introduce the industry to its new APAC regional headquarters and Customer Experience Centre in Shanghai.

EFI's exhibit included the first showing in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region of the 3.2-metre EFI Vutek LX3 Pro hybrid roll/flatbed LED inkjet printer.

“It is a device that is a leading production-class LED inkjet graphics printer with fast throughput of up to 3,420 square feet per hour,” a press release from EFI revealed.

The printer also offers high-resolution greyscale imaging, while its 'cool cure' LED technology significantly reduces energy usage and costs while giving users the ability to print on a wider range of media.

The newest-version EFI Fiery Proserver driving the Vutek printer at the exhibition boosts productivity and quality well beyond a typical printer RIP.

“This upgraded Fiery digital front end platform gives customers the power to process print files 60 per cent faster than earlier versions of the Proserver,” the company added.

EFI Reggiani print samples were also on display at the exhibition, highlighting the important new opportunities printing companies can capture using digital textile printing as a cost-effective alternative.

According to EFI, the EFI Reggiani printing display represented the quality and versatility possible with EFI's newest fabric soft-signage printers and industrial printers for décor and apparel applications.

EFI also showed for the first time in the region, the EFI H1625-SD, an entry-level, 1.65-metre UV hybrid production printer that uses EFI SuperDraw UV ink for near-photographic imaging direct to thermoformable substrates.

Another new product, the EFI Matan 8QW printer was also shown in China for the first time, which is an advanced roll-to-roll inkjet product that gives users the ability to create beautiful images.

The 5-metre printer runs at speeds of up to 3,800 square feet per hour, offering high-quality imaging at 600 dpi, and features advanced, optional features that increase productivity, minimize waste and reduces labour.

The new headquarter features many of EFI's top technologies for printing companies, including 2-, 3.2- and 5-metre EFI Vutek HS and GS series printers and the new EFI SuperRange ink.

The Customer Experience Centre also features an end-to-end EFI Fiery digital print workflow installation with Digital Storefront Web-to-print software and integrated EFI Fiery Command WorkStation.

The centre also features a Color Profiler Suite, Jobflow management and automation technologies, while visitors can also view cloud-based EFI Printsmith Vision MIS software. (AR)
